I wanted to visit China for a long time, so here I am in Beijing. In half a day I learned that there is no blue sky in Beijing due to smog, every step of Chinese citizens is being recorded on camera and they advertise right in metro tunnel while the train is moving. Though let's start from the beginning.
There are 3 terminals in Beijing airport. My flight from Ashkhabad arrived to 1st terminal which looks dark, almost like a hangar. Though it was just a first impression, overall it's all nice and sound: fast custom line, good connection to the city center.

In metro (like in most of other places) there is no way to pay with visa/mastercard. The only way was to find some cash which is not that easy: only one ATM from all I found was able to withdraw money. Be careful with the PIN: keypad is reversed!

Guards in metro are everywhere. Even in trains there are up to 3 persons like in Soviet uniform. It's not clear if they are police or just metro staff.

Similar guys on every station meet the train on the special standing. They just meet the train and give a "go" signal. I've no idea why.

There wasn't too much of advertising in metro, however there are running screens right in the tunnel. You can see it in the window. There are screen in a tunnel which show a picture which moves around train speed to create an effect of static picture. Looks really interesting.

Despite of late arrival I managed to get in most important Tibet temple in China — Yonghe Temple.

I've read about heavy smoke out of incense in guides, though there was nothing like that. Just a light one.

Statues reminded me about similar ones in Kamakura.

While it still was a daylight, I took a walk in old Hutongs (Beijing lanes).

I've never seen so many different flavours of street food. Lots of people eat it while walking.

Fruits are also great here (and aren't expensive).

One can find any kind of food for a dinner he wishes.

PS. Scooters are really popular in here. Interesting that all those I saw are electrical.
