Tenerife is pretty small island, still it's much colder on the north part than on the south. It's really amazing how different the weather and landscape in different parts of the island.
Anyway, it's not about the weather now. They have here Pyramids Guimar on the island.

Nobody can definitely say why, when and for what it was built. Some scientists believe it was build by local farmers who had a habit to put stones on the border of the field and there were a lot of pyramids like this on the island but most of them was demolished as nobody needed it. Though there is alternative version that there is a special religious purpose why it was built and it is even oriented according to some astronomic rules.

Anyway tourists like this place. Around 100 thousands people visit it per year. This yeas I was one of them (:

Among pyramids there is also botanical garden. It was a surprise for me that there is palms with fruits different from bananas and coconut. Some small fruits looks like sea-berry. Though I've no idea what it is.

Just in a couple kilometres from pyramids there is an interesting town Candelaria.

It's a small town just a bit bigger than 25000 citizens. But it's famous by its Basilica — main centre of Catholic church of Canary Islands. Not just tourists, but also a lot of palmer visit this place.

Spanish people took over the city in 1496 after hard fights with locals. In the memory there are bronze statues of 8 Guanches Kings who lead resistance to Spanish invasion.

Nowadays it's a calm city. Like in Icod there is a black sand beach. Though it was quite cold and I didn't take a chance to swim a bit.

On the island height difference can be really huge. That's why they build askew houses it's tricky to build smooth house. Just like in San-Francisco.

But it's really easy to find a good place to take a photo in the evening from some high place.
