Hallstatt 28.08.2015
Hallstatt. It’s an ancient austrian village, which mines the salt during last 3000 years. The village is quite small, just about thousand citizens. Though if you visit Salzburg it also worth to visit this place. Just about a hundred kilometers from Salzburg.
The city is located on the lake, surrounded by hills or even mountains. People found here salt caves. You can go up by walking, though if you’re lazy enough you can buy ticket for funicular.
From the top you can go to the salt mine or look at Halltstatt from the birds eye. This view is listed as UNESCO world heritage site.
There are too many tourists for such area. It is just a village for about 1000 people in the end. All the tourists are looing around, take the pictures. What they did forgot here? (:
The view on the city is truly amazing. Just like in a fairy tail. The water, mountains and Austrian village altogether make unbelievable picture.
The lake here is one of the biggest lakes in local area. Though the water doesn't look clean enough. I didn't take my chances to swim here even in such hot time.
Moreover I didn't see a lot of swimmers around. Just a couple mates on the boats.
Locals after long repetitions in backyard (I met them first time there) moved to tourist square to perform some public entertainment. Some Spanish girls around immediately started to help them sing. Surely it was fun for them.
On the way home I found a couple of lakes which were much cleaner and it was acceptable to swim a bit there. At the first glance you can think it’s the see, not the lake.
