Animals of Serengeti 01.02.2020

Image for Animals of Serengeti

Finally I'm in Serengeti. It is very recommended destination for animal photo hunt. There are so many different species in here. Most of the photos didn't really take any effort at all. We just met them.

It's better to have a camera with a good zoom. Phone camera also might be good if animals come close enough. Unfortunately most of them are too shy and prefer to stay safely away from a car. Digital zoom really sucks.

In national parks everyone tries to see big five animals (lion, leopard, black rhinoceros, African bush elephant, and the African buffalo). In the old days the game was to kill all five, nowadays it's just to take a picture :)

I managed to find all big five, however not all of them were in Serengeti. Elephants were mostly in Tarangire. Here I've seen a few lions, but only far away on the hill. It was much better with lions later in Ngorongoro.

I had to spend an hour under heavy rain to get a picture of leopard. Even though the only reason I managed to spot him was out guide. Unfortunately still the shot was not perfect at all and you really have to do your best to find leo on the picture.

From the other hand there were plenty of other animals.

Often times right in the middle of the road. Well, nobody tried to jump under the wheels. Still it's better to let them pass.

It's amazing here even without animals.

Time in the park runs extremely fast. I was very happy that I planned three days for the park (including the way in and out). Otherwise I would've missed half of the experience.
