Image for Avila

It's insane density of tourist attractions around Madrid. As the trip time was quite limited, I had to leave a lot of places for future visits.

I don't think I would go especially to visit Avila, but it was on the way to Segovia, so it was worth a stop for me. Let's go!

It was a bit more cold than I wanted (well, it was January). So I saw an entire school excursion trying to warm in tourist information center.

Spain has astonishing cathedrals in many small towns. Not every big city has something comparable. This one also had additional value: it was built also as a fortress for citizens protection.

Pay attention to details while walking there: even door handle might be interesting.

Walls are very massive. You can even walk there! (just like on The Great Wall, but here they don't have as many visitors).

Local delicious: Yolks of Saint Teresa. Tastes almost as yolks :)

Small churches are quite similar.

In the evening there's a light around the walls. It looks much more interesting.

I like in Spain that even far away from a sea I could find in shops a lot of sea stuff for a reasonable price. It even looks fresh enough :)
