It was a third day from a long weekend. The first two days I spent in huge crowds in Watkins Glen park. Then I flew to California and wanted to spend a day without loads of people.

That's why I decided to go to the north part. Usually only a few are brave enough to go there.

On the way there were so many places to try some oysters. I couldn't help myself but stop at one of them and give it a try. Totally worth it.

North is very different from other parts. It was warm and sunny in the beginning of the way, but in the mid way it's already foggy and pretty fresh.

Finally Fort Ross. Russian fort on American soil :)
Russian ships arrived here in Tsar time, but they didn't stay here long enough (at least from historical point of view).

Russians were making money here on animals, fur and anything which could possibly bring some profit. Once there was no more profit, the business was stopped and Russian went home. It took just a few dozen years. However the fort survived till nowadays.

Local guide is very cool guy: American who learned Russian and even lived a couple of years in Siberia (!)
The tour isn't free, but the price is quite low. If the group is entirely Russian-speaking, he might make it completely in Russian. The guy needs some practice (:

Behind the fort there is exit to the ocean. It was pretty windy, but beautiful.

Gas price reminds me that I'm in California. In NYC it was 1.5 times cheaper (:
