No need to talk around. Let's start from the most famous sight: Here it is, the Bund!

I've met a lot of wedding photo sessions on the Bund. Brides prefer red color. Looks unusual.

The riverside is pretty empty. Well, there are people, but there is almost no street food or souvenir shops there. It reminded me the embankment in Baku.

There are buildings of amazing examples from different styles in one place. It is even referred sometimes as World architecture museum. Chinese government restricted new skyscrapers in this are which is not a usual behavior.

There is even a market bull. Almost like in New York. Though nobody rubs the balls.

Chinese gardens are considered as one of the best in the world. However I didn't really enjoy it: I had an impression that buildings, bridges and stone constructions are more important than plants and trees. Japanese gardens like this one are much better.

There are way too many temples in the city, though visit even in the least important might cost a while. Financial devastation :)

Of course there are tons of street food. Lots of various good street food. Sometimes even very tasty.

Shanghai backyard.

In the park next to Shanghai museum I accidentally found out a lot of people with umbrellas. On each umbrella there was a paper with some Chinese text.

Suddenly it turned out that it's a dating service. A kind of offline social dating. The paper on umbrellas is a description of young men and ladies (sometimes there is even approximate income there). I wonder if this way is still effective nowadays.

Shanghai fake market. Reminded me a good old (already closed) Chinese market in Moscow :)

Interesting things to dry clothes.

Chinese tea market. It's a very special thing to buy a bit of tea. One can't simply buy tea here.

The seller will brew a potential buyer a cup of tea. By default it's the best and most expensive tea in the shop. That's why it's better to set your financial limit from the beginning. Normally they make strong tea to make you feel the flavor better. So I had to stop the process before I got drunk by tea (well, it's indeed possible from big amount of string tea).
Most sellers I've met do not speak English at all, though it didn't stop them from trying to sell me something. I quickly figured out that it's better to avoid such places at all, as it is almost impossible to explain what I need. So I tried to talk only to those who could say at least a couple of words in the language I can understand.

Skyscrapers. You have to be lucky with the weather and ecology to catch a clear vision. In 4 days I've spent here there was only one it was clear and no smog.

China is the only country who logs the weather and air purity. It's really important especially for huge cities like Shanghai.

The best time to visit viewpoint on top of skyscraper is just before the sunset. This way it is possible to see 3 states in the same time: day light, twilight and night time. Anyway it's getting dark after sunset really quick.
