Tbilisi is very old city. It was founded more than 1500 years ago. According to old legend, Iberian tsar was hunting in this area and he shot a pheasant. The bird fall to sulphur springs. That's how was decided to found a city here.

Beside Baku this city is a bit more dirty. There are beggars, musicians, political meetings in the streets, a lot of walls are in graffiti. Big city's life as it is.

The city lies in the river valley surrounded by hills. Therefore some streets have a big height difference. There are also a lot of shortcuts throughout the city.

In one day we saw quite a number of demonstrations. Police didn't try to intervene. Just was standing nearby...

There is a big flee market near the river. People sell here a lot of old gadgets. I saw a lot of question from visitors to sellers, but didn't see a single deal done.

The way to the biggest church in Tbilisi was through picturesque slum.

Tsminda Sameba (The Holy Trinity) was built in 2002, however interior is not finished yet. However the worship services are already held there.

There are a lot of churches in Tbilisi. In general Georgians looks very religious. However there are also mosques and synagogues.

On the hill top there are ruins of Narikala fortress. It's quite high to make a cable car there.

It is possible to walk on the fortress wall. It's unbelievable that there is no handrail there. Looks like people are not falling down often enough to place one there :)
