Before switching to Killarney, I would like to tell you about the apartment I stayed tonight. That was one of the most amazing experience throughout all my stays during all my trips. Number one for sure goes to Japanese Nikko, but here it was almost as perfect.
It would be hard to get here without a car, but in Ireland it is hard to travel without it anyway. The house is located not just outside the city, but in a real village. In 15 km away from a small town Abbeyfeale with just 2000 citizens.
So the hosts not just provided a room to sleep, but also cooked a breakfast for us (it's not often when Airbnb host decides to make a breakfast for you), but they also shared some life details during breakfast. The family has 3 children. Two of them have US citizenship (they were born there) and the small son was born already in Ireland when the family returned back. Parents moved to US, but then decided to return and they're happy about the decision.
The family is very musical. The elder son is earning for life by accordion. Summer is a tour time. With Irish music band. And the winter is a time to teach children some music. So he was in a tour during my visit, but the daughter and smaller son were at home. The daughter plays harp and the son the button accordion. So during tea time they made a small performance for us. Never before somebody made a harp play for me during teatime. And such a god harp play! That was truly amazing.

So after such a positive day start we were headed to Killarney National Park, which is near Killarney town, Kerry. The town name might seem strange, you can start to think that they want to kill Arney there, but it's not English. It's Ireland in the end. So from Irish it is just a Church of sloes (Cill Airne).

One of the most interesting places in National park is Muckross Haus. It's a farmstead with a complicated history. The buildings were started to build in 1840s, the build process took a while, there was also a time when nobody lived there. Even English Queen Victoria visited this place one time. The owners spent a lot of money for renovation within preparation to Queens visit. They hoped, that after the visit it would be much easier to make money for them. Unfortunately expectation didn't come true, therefore bad financial situation turned into catastrophic. They had to sell the house (Guinness bought it, yes those Guinness who makes such a great dark beer). Then the house was sold a couple more times and finally it was presented to Irish nation and cultural heritage.

Right after farmstead there is a trail with walking routes in the park itself. There were several options with different levels of difficulty. The most complicated was with a lot of height difference. It's not easy for everyone. Though quite easy was to reach a waterfall.

Though if you're too lazy to go just the straight road, there is an option to have a ride on a horse.

There are big crowds around waterfall. Though no surprise here. Annually around 250 thousands people visit this place.

It's still possible to catch a moment without people.

From the other side there is a farm itself. It's also possible to visit it. Though if you had visited the real village at least once there is nothing really interesting here. But you can taste local butter and bread.

But the weather here is very beautiful.
