Next to Croatia there is one part of former Yugoslavia: Slovenia. First impression: they care about driving rules too serious. Speeding cameras are installed much more frequent than in Austria or Croatia. To drive intercity you have to buy special permission vignette. It costs 15 euro (yearly pass just 110 though). But fine is 150 for non locals and 300 euro for locals.

Ljubljana is a capital of Slovenia. The city is quite small, just around 250 thousand people. Though there are only 2 millions in the entire country. In the city center there are a lot of musicians. On every inch you can find a guy with accordion or even quartet.

..even some Hindu procession. The country is really multi-national (:

The castle in on the hill. It’s just about 50 meters high, though even it looks like a small height, it’s not that easy to climb there. The trail is really steep. For the lazy one there is a lift, though who needs the easy way? ? (:

From this place you also can watch the city. It’s beautiful. Especially during the sunset.

The historical part is not that big, though it is extremely picturesque:

It was just 10 minutes by bicycle from city center to out accommodation. Host was very hospitable and he took care about the things in advance. So bicycles were included in apartment rent and saved us a lot of time.
He also grows grape and kiwi. It looks really good, even it's not ready yet. Just about one more week to wait. He told us he has more than 100kg of grape per year. But it's not good enough for vine, so he makes juice of it for winter.

The most famous sight in Slovenia is the castle on Bled lake. It was build about a thousand years ago. Though it is in a perfect condition in our time. Building quality back in the old time was much better (:

The castle itself is located on the hill and you can see from the top Alps, the lake and tourists who’s trying to find the best place for a picture.

In the lake centre there is the only island in the whole country. They build a church there and it looks amazing.
