Delaware Water Gap 25.08.2019
On the weekend I wanted to get out from a stone jungle. My friend Igor made this happen. Special thanks for this. Just 40 minutes from Penny station and there is no trace of New York in New Jersey state. Everything is green and nice.
The house (:
After a great dinner and good sleep it was time to explore waterfalls. And NJ state laws. I learned (fortunately not the hard way) that it's forbidden to fuel the car by myself. There is a special worker on gas station who will do it for me. Otherwise I would have to pay hundreds of dollars to the state for breaking a law.
Roads are really nice. And beautiful.
There are unexpectedly way too many visitors. In some places there were lines just to buy entrance ticket.
Fortunately there are plenty of free waterfalls. So it was possible to avoid all the lines.
Part of the trails was unavailable. Probably the trail was destroyed and not restored or something else happened. Sometimes it's possible to try and walk on it, but most of the time it doesn't work this way.
More waterfalls.
There are so many flags with 'Open' sign with 3 colors. There's a theory those are in sync with colors of US flag. I'm not sure whether it's true. Those flags are everywhere.
After a good walk it's a great time to have some lunch. City of Milford nearby is a great place to do that. Just don't mix it with Milford in 23 other states (:
Diner is an ideal option for lunch. Normally they serve a good food (not great, but good) with kind of guaranteed quality and for sane money. Some of them work even 24 hours a day. This is Milford in PA, however it's almost on the border with NJ. And NJ is like a motherland of diner itself.
Bears is like a symbol of the town. Statues are everywhere.
The view on Manhattan from the other river side, NJ.
When I was back, there were too many people wiling to go out from the track. Spent a while over there.
