Yangshuo 10.05.2018
It's pretty close from rice terraces to touristic Yangshuo town, however I spent half of the day on bus trips with lots of connections. So I checked in just late in the evening. After quiet village i wasn't prepared to see so many light and tourists in the city center.
There are dozens of discos. I saw a lot of "go-go" girls who are trying to attract visitors. I was very surprised by their repression. I mean normally Chinese are very open, I could often hear champing in restaurant. Even missing door inside the toilet (not the door from the street, but the door which separates seats) was never a problem for them. The dancing really causes some issues: they're way too restrained.
Yangshuo is famous for its karst hills. It really reminded me about Zhanjiajie a bit. However the hills are much lower here.
Many hills have own name. It's possible even to climb on some of them. The best way to explore the area is to rent a bike and make a trip around along the Li river.
There is a number of interesting sides along the river. The first one is a thousand year old banyan tree.
Or the cave of Assembling Dragon. Have no idea why it was named this way, but it's one of the most interesting caves I've ever been. Thanks to excellent illumination.
It's a heaven for a photograph. I had an impression they tweaked the lighting to make photos look that great.
Though I would like to note, that in real life colors are not that bright and rich. Camera made a miracle there. Anyway I didn't use photoshop to make it look that way!
The final bike route point is Moon hill. I climbed up to get a bird eye view (though not the highest point). Before the stair there were local old women who was trying to sell me a bottle of water. I've read that some of them could follow me uphill to sell the water. Of course the higher we get, the higher is the price. Fortunately I showed my bottle in the beginning of my way and nobody followed me.
A really good trail goes to the window level. It is possible to go even higher, however only a very bad trail leads further. So I decided to stay on a safe side :)
After a bike trip I still had a bit of time for a short city walk. Accidentally saw fake KFC :)
Again there were fishermen on the riverside. I've no idea what they can catch there. Though I didn't see any success even a single time :)
PS. In the evening there is a Chinese performance on the river. However I can't say that it's really spectacular :)
