Often times Medeu immediately pops in mind when people hear about Almaty. A lot of world records in ice skating were taken in this place (over 200!).

But if you go a bit higher it's a real winter in there. Ski resort just half an hour away from Almaty city center.

Pay attention to photo date: May, 4. The skiing season was expected to continue till the end of May.

Sometimes everything around sinks in the cloud and you see just nothing. I don't understand how people manage to go down in such moments.

Up in the mountains the temperature is around +5C, but it doesn't melt the snow.

You can take a cable car. You can take the very same car to go down. There's no need to go down on the board or something. A lot of tourists are doing so. In the summer you can find here cool hiking trails instead of snow.

On the way down the weather turns into summer and +20C. Really amazing.

No surprise a lot of Almaty habitats enjoy skiing from a childhood.
I truly enjoyed Kazakhstan. The trip worth it.
